A Healthy Range, LLC leverages the insight, experience and skills of Dr. Camille Range to drive Food & Health research, policy, strategic planning and evaluation
Dr. Camille Range is a sustainable food systems leader based in Washington, DC. She received the first doctorate in Urban Leadership & Entrepreneurship at the University of the District of Columbia. Her research focuses on policy change and governance solutions to address racial and health inequities in major food systems across the US. From improving school meal programs to supporting locally-owned food businesses, Camille now embraces opportunities to diversify urban food systems and promote health equity in the DC metro area and nationwide through her consulting business, A Healthy Range, LLC.
From her previous roles as a community-based dietitian, Dr. Range gained understanding of the impact of social determinants of health and the high demand for culturally-relevant health education. Dr. Range brings innovation to nutrition curricula to community and school-based programs promoting positive, healthy behavior changes in Hispanic and African American families. Dr. Range’s goal to impact families’ nutrition outcomes on regional scale was achieved while working as Senior Nutrition Systems Manager for Sodexo Schools segment. Her key responsibilities included facilitating change management for the company's modernization to a nutrition software system, operationalizing federal and state nutrition policy through the COVID-19 pandemic and new strategic business and relationship development. Her role within regional leadership allowed her to gain experience from over 60+ school districts and communities in DC, MD, VA and NJ and their local solutions to address food insecurity.
Dr. Range also works to train the next generation of health leaders and advocates against food & nutrition insecurity. This includes teaching and coaching students from her alma mater universities, the University of Houston and The George Washington University. She also upheld this commitment through multiple leadership positions within the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and Foundation to promote the student and early professional experience (2015-2021).
Dr. Range received a B.S. Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL. She completed her dietetic internship and Masters of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX.
